The author of this article is a mother who has transferred twice from home to hospital, she then went on to have an amazing homebirth.
Although the vast majority of planned homebirths occur at home, some end in transfer. Many people, usually uninformed ones, declare that this is a "failed homebirth" or use transferring women's birth stories to support the argument that all births should occur in hospital, however the fact that women transfer to hospital actually proves that homebirth works, and it shows that women do not choose to give birth at home for selfish reasons. It's quite common for a woman who transfers to experience a whole range of emotions, and often she encounters negative or upsetting remarks from her friends and family on top of that.
